Corroboree Frog

In the battle to save the Southern Corroboree Frog, Taronga Zoo for the first time successfully bred the species for reintroduction in to the wild.

The Southern Corroboree Frog is Critically Endangered with fewer than 150 left in the Kosciusko highlands.

Series 4 Episode 7

A team from Taronga Zoo travel to the Snowy Mountains to find Corroboree Frog eggs that they hope will help save the species, while back in Sydney staff await the arrival of a new Zebra and at the same time have to say goodbye to an old friend.

Booroolong Frogs

The Booroolong Frogs that were released are the first to be bred in zoos, only a year after Taronga started a breeding program to save the tiny amphibian.

More than 600 individual frogs were released, providing a significant boost to the wild populations of South-Western NSW. The breeding program has been an unprecedented success, starting with only 34 frogs early last year.
