Which animals do you work with?
I currently work with Elephants. Before I came to Melbourne Zoo, I was at Healesville Sanctuary, where I worked with Birds of Prey, Seals, Koalas, Kangaroos, and Dingos.
How did you get in to Zookeeping as a profession?
After volunteering at Healesville Sanctuary, I was hired in a short-term contract position which eventuated in a permanent role working with falcons and eagles.
What's the best thing about your job?
Working closely with incredible animals and giving them the best care possible. Having the opportunity to meet and inform people about these animals and the issues that the wild populations face is a privilege.
What has been the wildest moment of your career so far?
Having the Reproductive specialist confirm that the Elephant I work with is pregnant, thanks to the artificial insemination our team carried out. An Australian first!
